After much speculation, Honda has finally launched the Activa e in India. At Rs 1.17 lakh (Ex-sh, introductory), Activa e directly takes on other well-established scooters from TVS’ iQube, Bajaj’s Chetak, Ola’s S1, Hero’s Vida and Ather’s Rizta scooters. There’s also a higher-spec Activa e RoadSync Duo variant that is priced at Rs 1.52 lakh (Ex-sh).

Among the two electric scooters launched by Honda, Activa e is the flagship and gets many premium features like a TFT instrument cluster that supports Bluetooth connectivity along with turn-by-turn navigation and notification alerts. There’s LED headlight mounted on apron along with LED DRLs and tail lights.

Honda Activa e is powered by two removable battery packs – 1.5 kWh each, for a total capacity of 3 kWh. Combined claimed range of Activa e is 102 km, and the battery-swapping system is its main highlight. There’s a swingarm-mounted electric motor that is rated at 6kW of peak power (8 bhp). Top speed is 80 km/h and there are three riding modes – Eco, Standard and Sport.

If the swappable battery is not for you, Honda also sell a fixed battery model called QC1. Unlike Activa e, QC1 is built on a budget and is not as feature-loaded. Honda has priced QC1 starting from Rs 90,000 (Ex-sh). It gets a rather simple instrument cluster along with minimal styling. Unlike Activa e, there is a rather usable boot of 26L in QC1.

There’s a fixed 1.5 kWh battery pack that promises a range of 80 km on a single charge. This battery is fixed and it powers a hub-mounted electric motor rated at 1.8 kW peak power (2.4 bhp). Top speed is 50 km/h and there are two riding modes – Eco and Standard.
