The transmission is the most important assembly in a car other than the engine, and the development of transmission technology plays a vital role in the automotive industry as users demand greater driving comfort.

Yesterday, FAW Powertrain announced that its first DCT400 transmission was officially rolled off the production line and the future Hongqi H9 will be the first to be equipped.

Qiu Xiandong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of FAW Group Corporation of China, pointed out that the control of core components manufacturing and core technology is crucial in the business development of the group.

The establishment of the powertrain factory and the mass production of the DCT400 gearbox, marking the Group’s efforts to strengthen its own products and make the whole vehicle more competitive.

The DCT400 gearbox will be the first to be equipped with Hongqi’s new flagship sedan H9, which was built by Chinese designer Ding Yangfeng and former Rolls-Royce design director Giles Taylor, and is also known as the “Chinese version of Rolls-Royce”.

As an executive sedan, the H9 interior features a large number of wood grain veneers and leather wrapping, while the rear is equipped with “zero-gravity” seats, with a wheelbase of nearly 3 meters 1, the rear space and luxury comfort like BBA models.

For the power part, the Hongqi H9 uses a longitudinal rear-drive chassis, with the 2.0T model having a maximum engine power of 252hp and peak torque of 380Nm, with a transmission matching the 7-speed wet dual-clutch gearbox.

In addition, the higher-end H9 models will be equipped with a 3.0L V6 mechanical supercharged engine and air suspension.

The car’s pre-sale price may start at 350,000 yuan, with an official launch scheduled for June.
