China’s electric vehicles increase prices across the board, according to CCTV

Several electric vehicle makers have issued notices that their products will increase prices, according to a CCTV survey.

Although it is currently the off-season for sales, many offline stores said they have received price increase notices from manufacturers.

Among them, two-wheeled vehicles, three-wheeled vehicles, and four-wheeled vehicles have all seen price increases ranging from a few dozen to a few hundred yuan, with four-wheeled vehicles’ price increase being the largest.

Since May last year, the purchase price of the frame, tires, motors, and other components has continued to rise.

Compared with the beginning of last year, the price of the motor, tires, frame rose by 20%; plastic parts price rose by 35%, the cable price rose by 25%, and the production cost of the electric vehicle generally rose by more than 20%.

At present, China’s two-wheeled electric vehicle ownership has reached 350 million units, and it is estimated that the future will be close to 500 million units.
