The voice control feature of Tesla vehicles is currently unavailable due to a temporary network issue, Tesla China customer support said on Weibo Thursday.
“We are very sorry for the inconvenience this situation has caused owners with their vehicles, and we are working on an expedited solution to restore service as soon as possible,” Tesla said.
Tesla’s first-quarter delivery figures released this month show a total of 184,800 vehicles delivered in the first quarter of 2021.
Of those, Model S and Model X deliveries totaled 2,020 units, and Model 3 and Model Y deliveries totaled 182,780 units.
Earlier this week, Grace Tao, vice president of Tesla, said the data collected by Tesla in China will basically be placed and stored in China.
In China, Tesla definitely complies with all Chinese laws and regulations, Tao said.
In the future, all smart cars may collect information, and this process needs to be well planned so that consumers can enjoy convenience and safety at the same time, Tao said.
On April 7, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology began soliciting public comments on a smart car management regulation, which mentions that smart connected car manufacturers should collect, use and protect personal information in accordance with the law.
