Total deliveries of the Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan have exceeded 150,000 units, Lei Jun, founder, chairman and CEO of the smartphone maker, said today.

Lei revealed the figure in a live video today showcasing the Xiaomi SU7’s ability to drive autonomously from one parking space to another.

On December 31, Lei said in another live video that Xiaomi delivered more than 135,000 vehicles in 2024, with a goal of delivering 300,000 units in 2025.

He didn’t mention specific numbers at the time, but according to figures compiled by CnEVPost, the Xiaomi SU7 delivered 139,547 units in 2024, including 25,815 in December.

Xiaomi officially launched the SU7 on March 28, 2024, offering three versions — Standard, Pro, and Max — with starting prices of RMB 215,900 ($29,800), RMB 245,900, and RMB 299,900, respectively.

Deliveries of the Standard and Max versions of the SU7 began in April last year, and deliveries of the SU7 Pro began in May.

The SU7 has been well received since its launch, with delivery wait cycles once approaching 40 weeks, and still around 20 weeks, according to CnEVPost’s daily monitor.

In today’s live video, Lei also introduced an SU7 with a special red exterior color in one of Xiaomi’s showrooms, saying deliveries will start in March.

Xiaomi launched the red exterior color for the SU7 on December 31 as a limited edition color to commemorate its 15th anniversary, and it went on sale on January 1.

That red option is priced at RMB 9,000 ($1,230), higher than the RMB 7,000 for the other paid color options.

Apart from the SU7, Xiaomi’s next product pipeline will include a performance variant of the sedan as well as an SUV (sport utility vehicle) model.

Xiaomi announced on October 29, 2024, that the powerful SU7 Ultra became available for pre-order in China at a price of RMB 814,900, nearly four times the starting price of the regular SU7.

The official launch of the SU7 Ultra would be in March 2025, the smartphone maker said on October 29.

Xiaomi announced early last month that it had named its second EV model the YU7, with the SUV’s launch expected to be in June or July 2025.
