In November 1-17, retail sales of passenger new energy vehicles (NEVs) in China amounted to 581,000 units, up 66 percent compared with the same period last year and up 7 percent from the same period last month, data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) show.

So far this year, cumulative retail sales of passenger NEVs in China totaled 8.91 million units, up 41 percent from the same period last year.

Wholesale sales of China’s passenger NEVs from November 1-17 were 654,000 units, up 71 percent from the same period last year and up 20 percent from the same period last month, according to the CPCA.

Cumulative wholesale sales of China’s passenger NEVs so far this year were 9.93 million units, up 38 percent from the same period last year.

From November 1-17, China’s retail sales of all passenger vehicles were 1.11 million units, up 30 percent compared with the same period last year and up 3 percent from the same period last month.

So far this year, cumulative retail sales of all passenger vehicles in China totaled 18.94 million units, up 5 percent year-on-year.

This means that China’s NEV penetration at retail stood at 52.53 percent from November 1-17 and 47.03 percent year-to-date.

In the first week of November — November 1-10 — China’s average daily passenger car retail sales were 56,700, up 29 percent year-on-year but down 3 percent from the same period in October.

In the second week of November — November 11-17, average daily retail sales of passenger cars in China were 77,055, up 31 percent year-on-year and up 10 percent from October.

For November 1-17, China’s wholesale sales of all passenger cars were 1.27 million units, up 37 percent year-on-year and up 22 percent from the same period last month.

During November 1-10, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 66,737, up 41 percent year-on-year and up 45 percent from the same period last month.

From November 11-17, average daily wholesale sales of passenger cars in China were 86,271, up 34 percent year-on-year and up 4 percent from the same period last month.

Cumulative year-to-date wholesale sales of passenger cars in China totaled 22.45 million units, up 6 percent year-on-year.
