Chinese regulator invites Nio, CATL, BYD to conference on supporting development of NEVs

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) held a symposium in Beijing on August 26 to listen to companies’ suggestions in support of the accelerated development of the new energy vehicle industry.

According to a brief announcement posted on the MIIT’s official website, companies including Nio, CATL, SAIC, BYD, and organizations including the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance were invited to attend.

The participants made an in-depth analysis of the development situation and problems of the new energy vehicle industry, according to the announcement.

They made suggestions around supporting the accelerated development of the industry and the achievement of the carbon-neutral goal of the automotive industry’s carbon peak.

These suggestions involve strengthening work synergy, improving financial and taxation support policies, accelerating infrastructure construction, and strengthening safety supervision.
