Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Academy of Future Technologies aims to create an internationalized cutting-edge cross-cutting research and teaching platform to cultivate international, complex science and technology innovation talents that meet the development of the times and the future needs of the country, jiemian.com cited the university Thursday.

The institute will carry out international scientific research cooperation, focusing on forward-looking and fundamental frontier disciplines, strengthen cross-fertilization of disciplines, achieving original and breakthrough results with significant impact, and building a highly internationalized, information-based and intelligent management service support system, according to the report.

Ni Jun is currently a special advisor to the president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the dean emeritus of the university’s Michigan College. He was hired in 2020 as CATL’s Chief Manufacturing Officer and Co-President of Engineering Manufacturing and R&D Systems.
