Tesla (Beijing) Co Ltd was recently fined 50,000 yuan ($7,220) by the Beijing Chaoyang District Market Supervision Administration.
It is unclear why Tesla was fined, but this is not the first time Tesla (Beijing) Co Ltd has been penalized.
On September 13, 2016, Tesla (Beijing) Co Ltd was fined 200,000 yuan by the Chaoyang Branch of the Beijing Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce for untrue or inaccurate content of data, statistics, and survey results in its advertising use.
The reason for Tesla (Beijing) Co Ltd’s latest punishment is thought to be the same as last time.
It is worth mentioning that last month, a court in Munich, Germany ruled that Tesla’s advertising campaign in Germany had misled consumers and that Tesla should no longer claim or imply that its vehicles have autopilot capabilities.
