To regain lost ground from rivals such as Creta and Seltos, Renault recently launched Duster turbo petrol variant

While rivals focus on a long list of features, Duster turbo petrol is wooing customers with more powerful performance and that too at much affordable rates. Here’s a quick comparison of engine and specs to understand how Duster turbo petrol stacks up against Creta / Seltos turbo variants.

Engine & transmission

Even with a lower capacity 1.3 litre turbo petrol engine on-board Duster, the power output is a phenomenal 156 ps at 5500 rpm and 254 Nm at 1600 rpm. This beats the output figures of Creta and Seltos, which have the same 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine (140 ps / 242 Nm). Users whose primary requirement is higher power and torque would definitely like to try Duster.

Talking about the transmission, Renault is offering 6-speed manual and CVT with 7-step manual mode. While the CVT improves drive quality and responsiveness in city traffic, the 7-speed manual mode comes handy for off-road drives. In comparison, Seltos turbo petrol engine has 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT transmission. On Creta, only the 7-speed DCT is offered.
