Chinese-made Tesla Model 3 sedan registrations for May were 11,364 units, up 173.63% from the previous month, according to Chinaauto.ac.cn.

April and March Tesla Model 3 registrations were 4,153 and 11,280, respectively.

China-made Tesla Model 3 sales in May were 11,095 units, up 205 percent from April, making it the No. 1 new-energy vehicle sold in China in the month, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) released a week ago.

By comparison, China’s wholesale sales of 70,200 new energy passenger vehicles in May were down 25.8 percent from a year earlier and 25.8 percent from April up 19.5%.

Retail sales in China’s passenger car market were 1.609 million units in May, up 1.8% year-on-year, the first year-on-year increase in 11 months Upward.

Since the beginning of the year, the Chinese auto market has grown at a rate of -20%, -78%, -40%, -3%, and 2% from January to May.
